Health Minister lambasts 'evil' cigarette industry

The Minister for Health has branded the cigarette industry "evil".
James Reilly said the sector was focused on making the next generation addicts, and confirmed his plans to ban smoking in parks and on beaches.
The proposal has been criticised by pro-smoking lobby groups, who say the move will further marginalise smokers.
Minister Reilly said children had to be protected from an "evil" cigarette industry.
"I don't think that's too strong (a word).
"(The cigarette industry) seems to be focused on addicting the next generation. Once they have you hooked, they move on to the next. That's the way it is, and I believe we have a real duty of care here to our children."
