Families could save up to 30% on their private healthcare by making a simple phone call.

The savings can be made if you opt for a 'corporate plan' available by law to all customers.

While the plans from all three main health insurers are not widely advertised, they can be accesssed by anyone either joining health insurance or wishing to transfer from their existing plan.

Usually only marketed to companies when insurers are trying to attract a firm’s entire complement of staff, the companies must make this available to everyone.

The savings could save up to €400 per year for an average family.

Aviva's company plan is called 'BizPlan', while Quinn's plan is called 'Company Care'.
