The head of the government's budget advisory group has said that austerity will have to continue for another two years.
John McHale said there is no possibility of easing up on taxes or spending cuts until at least 2016.
He said the government may also have to increase the cuts in next year's Budget if the economy doesn't grow as much as expected.
He said that easing off on spending cuts before 2016 would put the recovery in doubt.
