Hanafin: Losing Ryan in Euro elections would be trouble for FF
07/06/2009 - 16:25:22Minister Mary Hanafin has said it would be a serious issue for Fianna Fáil in Dublin if Eoin Ryan lost his seat in the European elections.
Ms Hanafin said however that the results of the elections do not show that the people want a change of Government and she said the Cabinet has full confidence in the Taoiseach Brian Cowen.
Meanwhile, Government Chief Whip Pat Carey has said that the Greens have affirmed their commitment to stay in Government with Fianna Fáil.
He also said the Government will face down the motion of no confidence to be tabled by Fine Gael in the Dáil next week.
