Hain calls for end to ‘political paralysis’ in the North

The Northern Secretary Peter Hain has called for an end to "political paralysis" in the North.

Mr Hain was speaking ahead of tomorrow's crucial talks in Hillsborough Castle tomorrow on reviving devolution.

He pointed out that continuing to pay Assembly Members an average of €126,000 a year in salary and expenses is untenable if they are going to go on not doing their jobs.

Speaking on the BBC, Peter Hain said that he is impatient to see the parties return to power-sharing.
