Gun attack on Belfast house
A gang which launched a gun attack on a house during the night is being hunted by police in the North today.
At least 10 shots were fired at the house, in Jamaica Street in north Belfast, shattering windows.
A man and woman in their 20s were in the property, but escaped injury.
A rifle and shotgun are believed to have been used in the attack at around 2.50am.
Three men are believed to have carried out the shooting - two of them wearing hooded tops which were pulled over the faces.
Police, who were trying to establish a motive for the gun attack, appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
Earlier a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the back while walking along the Springfield Road in Belfast with two male friends.
He was admitted to hospital with a number of knife wounds to the back, said a police spokeswoman. His condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
An unknown number of assailants were believed to have carried out the attack, at around 1am, during which a second of their friends suffered an injury to the face.
