Campaigners are welcoming plans for a 1916 commemorative centre on Moore Street in Dublin.
The Cabinet has approved a major revamp of Moore St, including work on the four houses that comprise the national monument.
The Save Moore Street group, which includes relatives of those who fought in the Rising, say its a red-letter day for the campaign.
The group says it also welcomes NAMA's decision to provide €5m worth of funding to carry out the works.
