GRA: Gardaí feel vulnerable following organised crime surge
17/12/2006 - 12:07:11The organisation which represents rank and file says the upsurge in organised crime is leaving its members feeling vulnerable.
This comes as the Minister for Justice appoints more armed detectives to police the streets over the Christmas period.
For the first time, officers wearing body armour and carrying submachine guns will be on duty in parts of Dublin, but the Garda Representative Association said many members of the force feel unprotected.
