Govt planning major drive to create 60,000 construction jobs

The Government is planning a major drive to boost the construction sector and build more family homes.

It is setting a target of 60,000 building jobs.

One of the proposals would also see developers having to pay a tax if they own zoned land, but have not started building on it.

A draft of the plans is going to be discussed at a special Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
