Govt launches bid to protect remaining banking documents (two out of eight cannot be found)

The Department of Finance has launched a process to ensure no more files go missing ahead of the banking enquiry.

The move follows revelations that two out of eight key documents concerning the 2008 bank guarantee cannot be located.

They include correspondence between Bank of Ireland governor Richard Burrows and the tax adviser for the Jupiter group, Noel Corcoran.

Jupiter was trying to buy Bank of Ireland at the time.
