Government urged to invest in construction industry
The Construction Industry Federation said that it will press the Taoiseach to announce a stimulus package in next month's Budget.
The CIF is holding its annual conference in Dublin today - with Enda Kenny due to address delegates this afternoon.
Federation President Philip Crampton said that investing in new schools and hospitals would provide thousands of jobs and boost local economies.
He said he will be urging the Taoiseach to bring the industry back to its feet.
"I think we can still keep the Troika happy and still put a bit more into the economy and I think doing all of that will do our industry good," he said.
"So we will be pushing for that".
