Public-sector unions and the Government return to the talks table today to in an attempt to resolve the ongoing row over pay and pension cuts.

Kieran Mulvey and Kieran Foley from the LRC will facilitate the negotiations in a personal capacity.

It is the first time both sides have held formal discussions since talks broke down late last year.

The unions are promising widespread industrial action if the Government fails to reverse the cuts announced in last December's Budget.
