Green Party leader John Gormley says an inquiry into the banking crisis should be set up in the New Year.

He has also called on politicians who received favorable treatment from the Irish Nationwide boss Michael Fingleton to come clean about their involvement with him.

Earlier this week, the Taoiseach said any inquiry into the banking crisis should only be considered after the restructuring of the banking system is complete.

However, the Green Party leader wants an inquiry to happen sooner rather than later.
