A teenage girl has been seriously injured in a road accident in Dublin this morning.

A teenage girl has been seriously injured in a road accident in Dublin this morning.

The girl, who is believed to be 14 years old, was struck by a car at around 7.45am on the Oscar Traynor Road in Coolock.

It is understood the girl was on her way to school when it happened.

She was rushed to Temple Street Hospital.

Gardaí have described her condition as serious.
