A three-year-old child has suffered burns to her face after a kettle of hot water was thrown at her.
Her injuries were said to be minor and the attacker was restrained by members of the public until police arrived, a Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) spokeswoman said.
A 36-year-old man suffered 10% burns to his body, mainly his back, during the same incident in Drumlin Grange, Ballyward, Co Down, last night.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
