A brother of model and TV presenter Glenda Gilson will face trial next month for cannabis possession and driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
Damien Gilson (35) with an address at Raglan Road, Dublin, has been accused of driving “under the influence of an intoxicant” to such an extent he was incapable of having proper control of a vehicle, at Diswellstown Road, in north Dublin, and dangerous driving at the Phoenix Park, on September 8, 2010.
He also faces three further charges for unlawful possession of cannabis at Blanchardstown Garda station and at Diswellstown Road, on the same date.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and was due to face a trial at Dublin District Court today.
However, his solicitor Michael O'Connor told Judge David McHugh that the hearing had been vacated and instead the case had been listed for mention.
Mr Gilson had been excused from attending and a new hearing date was required, he said.
The judge ordered that Mr Gilson's trial would take place on April 26 next.
In March last year, the Gilson Motor Company Ltd was wound up by the High Court after racking up more than €140,000 in unpaid taxes.
TV presenter and model Glenda Gilson and her brother Damien, had been listed as directors of the firm.
