Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore has called on the Finance Minister to intervene and stop a pension top up for a bank chief.

Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore has called on the Finance Minister to intervene and stop a pension top up for a bank chief.

Richie Boucher is getting the deal as part of his position as chief executive at Bank of Ireland - which got more than €3bn in capital from the taxpayer.

The top-up for Mr Boucher which should let him retire in four years time at the age of 55 with an annual pension of more than €365,000.
