Homeowners 'should consider free TV services' as big-hitters hike costs

The Consumers Association of Ireland is hitting out at TV service providers who are planning to increase their prices.

UPC has reportedly notified more than half a million customers that they will have to pay up to 14 % more for their packages from March.

The company is blaming the rising costs of programming and operations.

Sky's basic TV package is set to rise by €1 a month from February 1.

The CAI is urging consumers to shop around and consider the free TV services on the market.
