Gardaí to travel to Slovakia as part of bomb investigation
It has emerged that gardaí are to travel to Slovakia as part of their investigation into the planting of explosives in the luggage of a Dublin-bound passenger.
The man unwittingly brought a commercial explosive in a backpack on a flight into Dublin last Saturday.
Authorities here were not informed of the operation by Slovak officials until earlier this week.
It sparked a major security alert in Dublin city centre on Tuesday.
The Slovak authorities have apologised to the Irish Government for the blunder.
