Gardaí to probe allegation of mistreatment of children at two Dublin creches

Gardaí have confirmed they are carrying out an investigation into the mistreatment of children at two creches in Dublin.

A garda spokesman says the investigation was launched on foot of a complaint by parents of children at the two facilities.

It is reported this morning a childcare worker has been sacked and five others suspended amid allegations that children were mishandled and subjected to poor quality care.

The issue came to light after a Prime Time reporter posed as a care worker at the two Dublin creches.
