Gardaí are going door-to-door in Rathcoole in Dublin today after the discovery of a body there yesterday.
Detectives claim the man found on the side of the road had visible injuries but the exact cause of death is still unknown.
This investigation started with a phone call in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A member of the public rang the Gardaí at around 3am claiming to have found a body on a deserted road in Rathcoole.
The victim in his 30s had visible injuries but a post mortem is being carried out before how he died will be revealed.
Detectives are also staying quiet about his identity - they claim to know who he is, but want to speak to his family first.
One of the most startling facts in the case relates to where the body was discovered - on Steelstown Lane - the same spot where baby 'Maria' was found abandoned earlier this month.
However, Gardaí say so far they have no reason to link the two incidents.
