One man has appeared in court in Dublin in relation to the seizure of more than €400,000 worth of cannabis plants.

Two more men are due before Cavan District Court this evening in relation to the find.

Gardaí have seized cannabis plants worth more than €400,000 after searches in Cavan and Meath.

Three men are due before the courts this afternoon in connection with the seizures.

Gardaí carried out the searches in Cavan and Meath yesterday as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Cavan area.

They searched a premises in Virginia where they discovered €210,000 worth of cannabis plants.

Three men - two aged 30 and one aged 28 - were arrested at the scene.

One man was released without charged, while the other two are due before a special sitting of Cavan District Court this evening.

In Meath gardaí searched a premises in Ross where they found a further €200,000 worth of cannabis plants.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear before the courts in Dublin this afternoon.
