Gardaí are looking for witnesses to a shooting incident in Dublin last week.
A firearm was discharged in the direction of a house on Beaver Street, Dublin 1, on Wednesday May 14, at around 10.30pm.
There were two people in the house at the time, but nobody was injured.
The man was in the area for a long time as he struggled to control his bicycle and firearm.
He fell at least twice during the attack and appeared to be intoxicated.
He then left the scene on his bike in the direction of Railway St while being followed by a dark-coloured saloon car whose progress was halted as a consequence.
A 28-year-old man was stopped by a patrolling garda on Sean McDermot Street a short time later and arrested.
Gardaí want to speak with the occupants of the car.
The man was brought to Store Street Garda Station and detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, before being released and a file being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigating Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the culprit in the area at the time of the incident and or anyone who has any information regarding the shooting. In particular Gardaí are seeking the assistance from the local community and would like to speak with anyone who may have seen a man on a pedal cycle at Beaver Street, Railway Street and Sean McDermott St between 10:30pm and 10:40pm on the night of Wednesday 14th May 2014.
The offender was dressed in a light coloured (cream or white) hoody top with dark bands approx 2 inch thick on both upper arms, dark bottoms and dark runners. He cycled a red adult mountain bike.
