A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Co Louth last night.

A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Co Louth last night.

A 24-year-old man was wounded during the incident outside a house on Mill Road in Dundalk at around 10am.

He was rushed by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Gardaí say his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Another man aged in his 20s was arrested and taken to Dundalk Garda station for questioning in connection with the attack, and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
