Gardaí probe suspected pipe bomb attack

Gardaí in Dublin were today investigating a suspected pipe bomb attack on a house in the south of the city.

An explosive device was thrown through the window of the property in the Ballyboden area at about 7.15am.

The house was occupied at the time, but no one was injured, though the blast damaged a room in the building.

The area was sealed off and army explosives experts examined the device.
