A man and a woman were seriously injured today in a double stabbing incident in Drogheda, gardaí said.

A man and a woman were seriously injured today in a double stabbing incident in Drogheda, gardaí said.

The incident took place shortly after 2pm in an apartment within the Fitzwilliam Court Apartment Complex on Dyer St.

Both victim, believed to be aged in their late 30s, were taken to Our lady of Lourdes Hospital.

The condition of the male victim is described as being critical and the woman’s condition is described as being stable.

No arrests have been made to date, Gardaí said.

The scene has been sealed off and an investigation is underway.
