An 18-year-old man, who died following a crash in Co Leitrim, has been named as John McGovern from Swanlinbar, Co Cavan.

An 18-year-old man, who died following a crash in Co Leitrim, has been named as John McGovern from Swanlinbar, Co Cavan.

The two-car collision happened outside of Ballinamore at 7pm yesterday evening.

He was taken to the Southwest Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, but died in the early hours of this morning.

Two women travelling in the second car were taken to hospital and have since been released.

The Swanlinbar to Ballinamore Road had been closed for a forensic examination, but has reopened this afternoon.
