A second man has been arrested by Gardaí in connection with the murder of a man in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.

A second man has been arrested by Gardaí in connection with the murder of a man in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.

The burnt remains of the man were discovered in a sleeping bag near the Wellington Monument.

He had been assaulted before his bag was set on fire.

A 20-year-old man was detained by gardaí in Dublin city centre this morning, while a 27-year-old man remains in custody.

Both are being held at Finglas Garda Station and Gardaí are following a number of leads in a bid to identify the victim.
