A man in his 40s has been released without charge from Garda custody in relation to a fatal assault in Dublin.

A man in his 40s has been released without charge from Garda custody in relation to a fatal assault in Dublin.

The serious assault took place outside the Park View apartments in Harold's Cross in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 57-year-old man, who was seriously injured in the attack, was taken to St James's Hospital but died from his injuries yesterday.

A man in his forties, who was arrested following the alleged attack, has been released from Terenure Garda station.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
