Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after a man's body was found on the northside of the city.

The 21-year-old's remains were discovered outside the Cabra House pub on Fassaugh Avenue at around 7.15am this morning.

He was removed to the Mater Hospital suffering with serious injuries and he died a short time later.

The scene has been cordoned off and Gardaí say they are treating his death as "suspicious".

Fassaugh Avenue is closed in both directions from Killala Road to Dunmanus Road, and gardaí are advising drivers to take an alternative route.
