Gardaí investigate sex assault on woman; three men allegedly involved

Gardaí at Mountjoy are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a woman on the north side of Dublin.

The alleged incident took place at Cabra Park in Phibsboro at 7.45pm on Sunday while the woman was on her way to work.

Gardaí believe up to three males were involved in the attack.

The woman was taken to the sex assault unit at the Rotunda hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Crime reporter with the Irish Daily Mirror, Cathal McMahon, said the woman, who was very shaken by the incident, had given a description of one of her attackers to gardaí.

"He is described as being about 5ft 10in with crooked teeth and red cheeks," he said. "Gardaí are hopeful they will be able to put together a photofit of this individual and distribute it in the area."
