An investigation has been launched into the death of a man in Dublin.

Gardaí investigate man's sudden death on street in Dublin

An investigation has been launched into the death of a man in Dublin.

It is understood he took ill on Trinity Street at about 3am this morning and was rushed to hospital, where he later passed away.

Gardaí say they are treating it as a sudden death and at this stage there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious.

The scene has been preserved to allow for a forensic examination if required.
