Gardaí in Kildare are investigating after a man was killed in a road accident on the M4 early this morning.
Two cars were involved in the collision in the westbound lane of the motorway at Kilmore, shortly before 1.30am.
The 31-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has since been removed to Naas General Hospital.
The man driving the other car received minor injuries.
There were no passengers in either car at the time of the crash.
The road is closed this morning while an examination is carried out and gardaí at Carbury are appealing for witnesses.
