Gardaí investigate after prisoners' protest leads to injuries at Cloverhill

Two investigations are underway following a protest at Cloverhill prison in Dublin yesterday which left an inmate seriously injured.

A group of inmates refused to return to their cells after exercising and two prisoners climbed onto the roof.

15 prisoners were subsequently removed from the yard.

Five ambulances were seen leaving Cloverhill after the incident.

Gardaí and the Irish Prison Service have launched separate investigations.
