Gardaí investigating the murders of two Dublin men have been given more time to question a man arrested in Cavan yesterday.
The bodies of Eoin O'Connor and Anthony Keegan were found on an island in Co Meath over a month after they were reported missing.
The pair were last seen alive in Co Cavan on the evening of April 22. It's believed the two friends travelled there together to reclaim a drugs debt.
Concerned family members couldn't get a hold of the pair by phone and their disappearance was reported to Gardaí.
Those closest to the men feared the worst when the car they were travelling in was found near Mullingar three days after they went missing.
And those fears were realised five weeks later when Garda divers found their bodies covered in plastic sheeting on Inchicup Island on Lough Sheelin.
A double murder investigation was launched and as part of their inquiries, Gardaí arrested two men in Cavan yesterday morning.
One of the men has since been released without charge but the second man has had his initial period of detention extended and is still being questioned at Kells Garda Station.
