Gardaí find suspected cocaine factory in Dublin

Gardaí have seized more than €1m worth of cocaine in Dublin.

The operation, carried out by officers from Dublin Metropolitan Traffic, supported by the Drugs Unit in Tallaght and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, took place yesterday in Tallaght.

The raid uncovered what Gardaí described as "a suspected drug mixing and compressing facility".

They found more than 12 bags of white powder and compressed blocks, believed to be cocaine and a cocaine mixing agent.

Compacting compressing equipment and some cannabis herb was also discovered.

Two men in their mid 30s were arrested at the scene and are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Tallaght Garda Station.

Gardaí have said the seized drugs may have a potential market value of €1.2m.
