Gardaí find car in search for two Dublin men missing in Cavan

Gardaí are examining a car located in Co Westmeath as part of the investigation into two missing Dublin men.

The silver Ford Focus believed to be the car used by the men was discovered in Mullingar this morning and is being examined.

A major search operation is continuing in Co Cavan to locate Eoin O'Connor and Anthony Keegan.

Dozens of gardaí resumed their search operation in the Ballyjamesduff area of Co Cavan this morning.

They are being backed up by the garda helicopter.

Thirty-two-year-old Eoin O Connor and thirty-three-year-old Anthony Keegan were reported missing by their families on Wednesday after they became concerned for their welfare.

Gardaí are also seriously concerned for the safety of the two men.

They had travelled with a group to Cavan on Tuesday.

Crime Correspondent with the Irish Daily Star Michael O'Toole said an anonymous call to gardaí was also central to their inquiries.

"Gardaí received a 999 call saying that two men were dead and that their bodies could be found in a field in Ballyjamesduff in west Cavan," he said.

"That precipitated a major search, coupled with the fact that relatives and friends of the two missing men went to Mountjoy and Santry garda stations on Wednesday night to declare them missing."
