Gardaí are continuing a question a 40-year-old woman over the murder of a man in Drogheda, Co. Louth.
30-year-old Wayne McQuillan was stabbed to death outside his home at Marian Park in the early hours of New Year's Day.
He was found with stab wounds in the front garden of his house at Marian Park in Drogheda, at a 1.45am on Wednesday morning.
He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem was carried out on the victim's body yesterday and having considered the results, Gardaí have now upgraded the investigation to murder.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested yesterday at Rathmullen Park in Drogheda, in connection with the killing.
It is understood she knew Mr McQuillan.
She is being detained at Drogheda Garda Station and must be either released or charged later today.
