Update 2pm: Gardaí investigating the murder of Mark Desmond in Dublin last year have arrested a fifth person - a 42-year-old woman.

Mr Desmond was found dead after suffering a number of gunshot wounds at Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan on December 2, 2016.

Two men - in their 20s - were detained in the Clondalkin area this morning while, a 42-year-old woman was arrested in the west Dublin earlier.

Two other men - one in his 20s and the other in his 30s - were arrested in the west Dublin area yesterday morning.

Earlier:

Gardaí have arrested two men in connection with the murder of Mark Desmond in Lucan, Dublin, last December.

The men were detained in the Clondalkin area this morning and following a planned operation involving a number of units of Gardaí.

They are both in their 20s.

Mr Desmond was discovered deceased after suffering a number of gunshot wounds at at Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan, in December.

Two men have previously been arrested as part of the investigation.
