Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a post office robbery in county Roscommon.

The robbery happened at Strokestown, Co Roscommon, yesterday and a man, aged 26, has been detaiined this evening.

The man was arrested in the Roscommon area and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Roscommon Garda Station.

He is the third man to arrested in connection with this investigation.

Two men, both in their 20’s, were arrested yesterday and are currently being held at Roscommon Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act. 1939.

Investigations are continuing.
