Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to fatal road collision in Co Mayo yesterday evening which claimed the life of an 18 year-old man.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to fatal road collision in Co Mayo yesterday evening which claimed the life of an 18 year-old man.

The single-vehicle crash happened at Tarmon in Blacksod at around 5.40pm.

The teenager suffered fatal injuries when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The front-seat passenger of the car, a boy in his late teens, was airlifted to Mayo General Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
