Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a Sunday afternoon mugging at a laneway in Cork City centre.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a Sunday afternoon mugging at a laneway in Cork City centre.

The incident occurred on Railway Lane, off Brian Boru Street on Sunday, September 21 at around 3.35pm.

A man, aged in his early 40s, was assaulted and robbed at Railway Lane by two other men as he was walking in the direction of Saint Patrick’s Church.

In particular, Gardaí want to speak with a woman who had witnessed the incident and alerted Gardaí, who were on Bridge Street at the time, to the robbery, to contact them at Mayfield Garda Station on 021 4558510, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
