Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a cash in transit robbery in Co Meath this morning.

Just after 10am two men wearing balaclavas - one of whom was armed with an iron bar - threatened two workers as they were transferring cash to a business premises on Main Street Duleek.

An amount of cash was taken and they fled the scene in a van believed to be a Silver Ford Transit with a partial registration number 01 WW.

The van traveled through Main Street Duleek in the direction of Drogheda and was discovered a short time later, burnt out, at the rear of the old grave yard, Duleek.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
