Gardaí in Co. Offaly are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old was killed in a crash at Geashill yesterday afternoon.

The two car collision happened at around 1.30pm on the Tullamore to Portarlington Road.

The 19-year-old was the driver of one of the cars, a passenger in the same car was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The male driver of the second car was also hospitalised.

This latest fatality brings to 164 the number of people who have died on our country's roads so far this year
