Gardaí are appealing for information on a serious assault on a man in Dublin last month.

The 26-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries around the junction of St. James Walk/Reuben St, Dublin 8, at around 7.50am on the morning of June 13.

He was taken to St. James Hospital where he underwent surgery, and has since been released from hospital.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on the day of the assault and detained at Kilmainham Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

He was later releaseed without charge.

Gardaí in Kilmainham are appealing for witnesses or in particular anyone who may have been waiting at the Fatima Luas stop to contact them in Kilmainham on 01 6669700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
