Garda who was hit by car in Donegal dies in hospital

A garda who was knocked down while investigating reports of a stolen car in Donegal last month has died in hospital this afternoon.

A garda who was knocked down while investigating reports of a stolen car in Donegal last month has died in hospital this afternoon.

29-year-old Garda Robert McCallion, from Co. Mayo, died in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin this afternoon after he sustained serious injuries to his head and arm while responding to the call.

Two people were later arrested in connection with the incident.
