Sinn Féin says threatened strike action by gardaí, indicates the fact that there are deep-seated issues within the force.
Members of the GRA have planned to stage industrial action on four days next month.
On Friday, middle-ranking gardaí in the AGSI staged a work-to-rule over the use of the PULSE system.
Both of the Garda unions are in a dispute with the Department of Justice over their working conditions and the issue of pay restoration.
Representatives from the AGSI, Garda management and officials from the Department of Justice are expected to meet again next week.
Sinn Féin TD Eoin O'Broin, has said that many Gardaí are working under very difficult circumstances.
"Well first of all, no Guard wants to strike," he said.
"The fact that it's got to the stage where the guards are threatening strikes shows you how deep the problems are within an Garda Siochána.
"Part of it is about pay, part of it is about huge increases in workload and reductions in staff over the last number of years, and part of it is poor management and poor supervision, and in many cases no training whatsoever."
