Garda released in 'Roma leak' case

A garda arrested over the leaking of information to the media has been released without charge.

The arrest was made after a probe by senior officers into complaints raised in the Roma report by the Children's Ombudsman last July.

It was launched to examine Garda handling of the cases of two blonde Roma children who were removed from their families two years ago on the incorrect suspicion that they had been abducted.

The officer was released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
