Garda Ombudsman probes fatal Galway crash

The Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating a fatal crash in Co Galway involving an off-duty member of the Gardaí.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating a fatal crash in Co Galway involving an off-duty member of the Gardaí.

A 65-year-old woman died following the collision between a car and a van just after 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The woman was a front-seat passenger in the car.

Four people were also hospitalised in the crash, which happened in Milltown, near Tuam.

The Garda Ombudsman named the victim in yesterday’s crash as Margaret O’Donoghue, who was from Bandon in Co Cork.
