Emergency services are at the scene of a crash on Dublin's Lower Abbey Street, which involved a garda car.

Gardaí could not confirm reports that a jeep was also involved, and was flipped over in the collision.

It is not yet known whether there were injuries in the crash.

Lower Abbey Street has been closed to allow the incident to be investigated.

The Luas from Tallaght that usually travels down Lower Abbey Street is terminating at Smithfield and not carrying on to the Point.

A spokesperson for Luas said none of their trams was involved in the crash and that passengers could use their Luas tickets on Dublin Bus.
